Music, art and gastronomy festival held in the agave fields of José Cuervo.
“Akamba†is a festival conceived and designed to connect us with our environment and our culture through positive coexistence. Its name means agave in the local Purépecha language: an extravagant, strong, productive and resilient plant - symbolic of our cultural values. Therefore, it was necessary to offer a promotional item that went hand in hand with the essence of the festival. It is important to highlight that this festival is sponsored by José Cuervo and takes place in the agave fields of Tequila Jalisco “The land of Tequila†.
We designed and produced 16 and 32 ounce glasses made of agave fiber. This fiber comes from the industrial waste of José Cuervo and helps reduce the percentage of plastic that is normally used in this type of products and in this way both the event and the product contribute to caring for the environment. Biodegradable straws made with the same fiber that our friends at PENKA make were also offered.

Being a collectible biobased item, it caught the attention of the event attendees since, being people who are interested in taking care of our planet, it turned out to be an attractive product. On the other hand, José Cuervo, like the Akamba festival itself, is considered a Socially Responsible brand since it was concerned about taking care of the environment by avoiding waste and excessive consumption of plastic.
UPDATE: 2023/05/12
For the second year, we produced the official cups for the AKAMBA Festival 2023, also handling both capacities: 16 and 32 ounces and using Polyagave in its natural color. Resulting in eco-friendly glasses that go hand in hand with the whole feeling of the festival.
